Keep South Carolina Beautiful (KSCB) is a state affiliate of the Keep America Beautiful (KAB) and is a division of PalmettoPride, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation.

The mission of KSCB is to empower individuals of South Carolina to take greater responsibility for enhancing their local community environments. The guiding principles of KSCB are to provide leadership, support and education to KAB affiliates and other community beautification organizations.

These grants are designed to supplement the existing local KAB affiliates in their efforts to eradicate litter and beautify their communities.

 

GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP OF SOUTH CAROLINA

Taking place every year from March through May, this three-month event brings thousands of communities all over the country together to accomplish one goal: to improve our quality of life.  Sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, Inc., this event is recognized as the largest cleanup event in the country.  In SC, nearly 30,000 volunteers clean up neighborhoods, parks, roads and waterways; plant thousands of trees, shrubs and flowers; recycle thousands of pounds of plastic, glass, newspapers, tires and batteries; and educate thousands of people on the effects of litter on our environment. KSCB Leadership Forum
This annual event gathers KAB affiliate directors and their board members for an intense, two-day training conference.  Directors and board members receive education and leadership training specific to each tract.  The Leadership Forum provides networking opportunities and education on programs from PalmettoPride and other state agencies that would benefit KAB initiatives.
