PalmettoPride, in partnership with the Commission on National and Community Service at the South Carolina Department of Education, has sponsored the development of this curriculum resource for public school teachers from kindergarten through grade twelve. Recognizing the central role that education plays in the eradication of the state’s litter problem, PalmettoPride is working to instill in students a keen awareness of the problem and a personal interest in the creation and implementation of viable ways of addressing it.
Hey, kids!!
What time is it? It's time to clean up South Carolina!!
It's important to get rid of litter in our state, and you can help. Make your PalmettoPride Promise not to litter and encourage your family and friends to promise too! Ask them to join you in your pledge, and let them know that litter belongs in the trash can.
Never throw anything from a car or truck. |
Recycle newspaper, glass, aluminum and plastic. |
Clean up after you go to a sports activity or a movie. |
Be sure your trash goes in the trash can, not just near it. |
Pick up after yourself at a picnic or a fast-food restaurant. |
Do your part to help pick up trash around your home and school. |
Remind your Mom and Dad and brothers and sisters NEVER to litter. |
The PalmettoPride Promise
Pick up one piece of litter everyday. |
Remind friends, neighbors and relatives NEVER to
litter. |
Participate in at least one cleanup every year. |
I will do my part to keep South Carolina
