Great American Cleanup
Working with the statewide Keep America Beautiful affiliates is vital to spreading our message into the local communities. The Great American Cleanup has been in place through KAB for many years.  This campaign lasts from March until May every year.  For more information, go to the Keep America Beautiful website  or contact our KSCB Coordinator, Sarah Robinson.

Forests, Parks & Waterways Program
PalmettoPride has partnered with the Department of Natural Resources, SCDHEC, the South Carolina Forestry Commission, USDA Forest Service and other forces to pilot the National Parks and Forest program. It is designed to heighten enforcement efforts, bring volunteers together to clean up the hundreds of illegal dumpsites in the forests and parks of South Carolina. To build further awareness of the litter problem Litter Buster Hotline signs are also put in the target sites. Groups of hundreds of dedicated volunteers come together annually to clean up tons of litter from illegal dumpsites in the Francis Marion National Forest, Sumter National Forest, Manchester State Forest, and other parks and forests statewide. More cleanups are in the works.  To get involved or for more information please contact our Program Coordinator, Gene Campbell.

Commercial Waste Haulers Program
PalmettoPride formed a “Waste Haulers Committee” and is promoting a real “buy in” from the people to whom clean up is a way of life. Many waste haulers have agreed to put magnets and bumper stickers on their trucks, encouraging people on the road to call the Litter Busters Hotline if waste is not being transported properly, as well as placed new anti-litter signs in their land-fills and convenience centers. To get involved in this program please contact our Program Coordinator, Gene Campbell.

Collegiate Recycling Program
In partnership with DHEC, PalmettoPride grants a two-year start up recycling program at stadiums.  The grant purchases bins to encourage recycling during events.  Participating universities: University of South Carolina, Clemson University, South Carolina State University and Coastal Carolina University. To get involved in this program please contact our Program Coordinator, Jennifer Fisher.
