Grab A Bag SC

Grab A Bag is Back

Grab a Bag South Carolina (GABSC) is a statewide litter pickup challenge inspired by Lt. Governor Pamela Evette’s own experience picking up in her home community. It encourages South Carolinians to grab a bag, rally friends and family, put on safety gear and head outside for a chance to enjoy the outdoors while making a difference in their communities.

PalmettoPride has had the honor of working alongside the Governor’s Office in planning this event for three years. During this year’s kickoff, PalmettoPride will join Rep. Jermaine Johnson, Councilmember Chakisse Newton of District 11, nonprofit Serve and Connect, and Richland County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Meet at Holy Bible Baptist Church located at 427 Bitternut Dr., Columbia, SC 29209.

This annual campaign kicks off every fall and encourages citizens of all ages to go out, grab a bag and pick up litter.

Citizens are encouraged to engage in litter pickups throughout the week and into the weekend of December 2 – 9. Share your plans and results with PalmettoPride using #GrabABagSC.
