Join us and @keepcharlestonbeautiful this Martin Luther King Jr. Day as we clean up the public spaces along Secessionville Creek and Battery Island Drive. MLK Day is a National Day of Service designated to encourage all Americans to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and improve their communities through volunteerism. Make it a day ON, not a day OFF!

Not only do these litter sweep events keep our communities litter free, they also prevent toxins and microplastics from entering our waterways and contribute to the @southcarolinaaquarium Litter Journal. Let’s work together to keep the health of our watershed clean for all the critters that call it home!

This event will take place on Monday, January 20th from 2:00 to 4:00pm. We will meet on James Island at the intersection of Folly Road and Battery Island Road (1859 Folly Rd, Charleston). Gloves, vests, and litter pickers are provided!
