Watergoat Installation

April 22, 2021

10:00 a.m., Oak Grove Lake Road

PalmettoPride announces, in partnership with Litter Ends Here & Greenville County Parks, Recreation & Tourism, the first installation in South Carolina of the litter collection and barrier system, the Watergoat. The system will be installed in Oak Grove Lake, Thursday, April 22 at 10:00 a.m.

This barrier system uses chain netting supported by a buoy line to prevent litter from traveling through water ways while still allowing water and marine life to pass through.

PalmettoPride will be on site to share the importance of having litter free waters, a litter free South Carolina, and the success of Greenville County as they continue their litter prevention, cleanup, and education efforts. Founder of the Watergoat, Mark Maksimowicz, will also attend the event to help with the install and answer questions about this litter collection tool.

To RSVP for this event, please email Summer Gagnon at

After the installation, a litter cleanup will take place from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
