PalmettoPride, the South Carolina Department of Transportation and the South Carolina Department of Corrections have come together to create Palmetto Prideways – a program dedicated to making our highways a source of state pride.
Palmetto Prideways offers an opportunity for businesses of all sizes to show their civic pride by supporting cleaner highways, cleaner communities and economic development. Companies or individuals are welcome to participate in sponsoring sections of interstate to be cleaned by SC Department of Corrections inmate services. Each sponsored section of interstate will include signage with your company’s name. It’s a great way to show the thousands of drivers who live, work and play in South Carolina that you care about keeping our state beautiful.
Here’s how it works:
- Choose an two-mile stretch of interstate.
- SC Department of Transportation erects signage with your company name or logo.
- SC Department of Corrections will use volunteer crews to remove and properly dispose of litter a minimum of twice a month.
What it costs:
- First year (includes sign production and installation) – $5,165
- Each consecutive year – $4,380
Each company may sponsor up to six Prideway segments throughout the state. Companies who choose to sponsor the maximum amount of segments will receive a discounted rate of $25,000 for all six segments. Prideway sponsorship is tax deductible.
