The annual South Carolina Litter Summit is PalmettoPride’s flagship statewide event, bringing together more than 150 people who are actually doing the work to keep South Carolina clean. PalmettoPride hosts the Litter Summit with Keep South Carolina Beautiful (KSCB) and the South Carolina Litter Control Association (SCLCA). Attendees include local and state officials, KSCB affiliate board members and coordinators, members of SCLCA, educators, nonprofit leaders, volunteers, and business partners—people who are leading projects, managing programs, and making decisions in their communities every day.
The next Litter Summit is September 9-11, 2026.
About KSCB: PalmettoPride coordinates the KSCB program, which is our state’s affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB). With 40 local affiliates of KAB in South Carolina, PalmettoPride is able to implement localized solutions for addressing litter in communities throughout the state. In exchange, PalmettoPride offers funding, training, professional development, and policy-based education to affiliates.
About SCLCA: SCLCA promotes litter enforcement, protects the environment, and helps to heighten public awareness of the problems associated with litter. PalmettoPride provides training to local code enforcement officials and provides staff support for SCLCA and works with county officials to develop and improve comprehensive code enforcement and litter control ordinances. SCLCA has 127 agency members across 49 organizations.
