Team up to clean up
PalmettoPride Clean Teams gives citizens a simple framework to facilitate their participation. We need your help to engage neighbors, family and friends to adopt a special area to monitor and clean up regularly. We recommend working with your local KSCB affiliate with help organizing a cleanup, but if there isn’t an affiliate in your area, Clean Teams is the opportunity for you!

We are looking for a few thousand good Samaritans to help us create a social norm that littering is not okay. PalmettoPride was created to engage South Carolinians to take responsibility for their communities and eradicate litter.
We can help identify the right program for your team and provide resources to help you get started. In exchange for your commitment, PalmettoPride can provide your group with cleanup supplies, t-shirts, event promotion, positive publicity, and other forms of technical assistance. While we only require four litter pickups a year, we encourage your Clean Team to pick up litter when you see it. We would love to hear from you and see your team in action! Learn more or contact PalmettoPride Special Projects Manager Joseph Berry at jberry@palmettopride.org.
We will defer to all locally coordinated “adoption” programs where applicable, such as: Adopt-A-Beach, local Keep America Beautiful Adopt-A-Spot programs, Riverkeeper and Covekeeper programs)
Requirements
- Four required litter pickups a year in parks, neighborhoods, roadways, streams, waterways, and/or nature trails
- Monitor your area for illegal dumpsites, graffiti and vandalism and report to local law enforcement.
