The right way to clean up
PalmettoPride appreciates your interest in keeping our state beautiful. A litter-free SC would not be possible without our volunteers. Because of this, PalmettoPride’s top priority is keeping volunteers safe when they venture outdoors to clean up.

Some cleanups take place around rocky, wet, or otherwise difficult terrain to navigate. Especially in South Carolina, our volunteers should always be on the lookout for wildlife and be weary of extreme temperatures. Although there is always a possibility that someone can become injured while cleaning up, PalmettoPride has designed a specific set of safety guidelines intended to protect our volunteers. When volunteers closely follow and respect the safety guidelines, they can focus on having fun, bonding with teammates, and enjoying the reward of beautifying their communities.
Before your event, invite PalmettoPride Enforcement Program Manager Samuel “Herbie” Ford to speak to your group about safety guidelines. With over 20 years of experience in law enforcement and litter control, Herbie will ensure your group is well-versed on safety protocol and will know exactly what to expect when they go out into the field.
