Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful Receives PalmettoPride Startup Grant

(Columbia, SC) – Keep South Carolina Beautiful (KSCB), the state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB) and a division of PalmettoPride, recently awarded Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful (KMBB) the Keep South Carolina Beautiful New Affiliate Startup Grant. This grant will assist the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) during the certification process of the new affiliate, KMBB.

The MBACC hosted an educational session for the public on Monday, June 7, 2021, with a sneak peak of the upcoming affiliate. Mallory Coffey, both KSCB State Leader and KAB National Trainer, presided over the presentation and shared insight on how the community can be actively involved with KMBB.

“As part of our Keep America Beautiful Network, Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful will act as a catalyst for positive community change, with a goal of improving the quality of life for every Myrtle Beach resident,” said Helen Lowman, KAB CEO. “We know Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful will help transform your public spaces into beautiful places as a new and important representative of our national affiliate movement.”

“As an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful will focus on three pillars: litter removal, recycling and beautification. Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful will complement the litter prevention, beautification, and waste reduction efforts that are already taking place within the city and provide additional resources to help make the city a better place to live, work and visit,” said Coffey.

Diana D. Greene, Chief of Administration at the MBACC is leading the affiliate certification efforts.

Greene shared how proud the MBACC is to be leading the charge for KMBB in conjunction with the City of Myrtle Beach. “We have seen the amazing results PalmettoPride, Keep South Carolina Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful have been able to accomplish at a state and national level. Efforts provided through Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful will be part of the comprehensive efforts taking place to enhance our beautiful city, making it a better place for both locals and visitors alike.”
