Columbia, SC (September 2017) — PalmettoPride your anti-litter and beautification organization, is hosting a children’s book contest! This contest will launch on September 5 and will be open to all ages with an original story idea focusing on the behavioral change of those who litter.
PalmettoPride’s mission is to eradicate litter and promote beautification in South Carolina using four key methods: education, enforcement, awareness and pick up. Changing the behavior of those that litter begins with education.
Interested writers can submit an idea themed “Litter Trashes Everyone” for consideration, with an application to follow. The grand prize for this contest will be a published book that will be donated to each elementary school in the state, and will be available for purchase from PalmettoPride.
Criteria to enter contest:
The deadline to enter the contest is October 14th. Illustrations are not required for the book, but they are encouraged. Judging will be based on creativity, content and character development. To submit your “Anti-Litter” book idea, please contact Jessica at Jalbert@palmettopride.org or call us at 803-758-6034.
