Columbia, SC – PalmettoPride will lead a free training on Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) along with Lancaster County and the Clemson University Police Department. This two-day course examines the relationship between our environmental cues in our physical surroundings and criminal activity.
Participants will learn ways to discourage undesirable behavior while encouraging appropriate activity using CPTED strategies through a combination of lectures, in-class exercises and a field assessment. This course includes:
Who should attend? Planners, developers, property owners, business owners, law enforcement, architects, landscapers, community leaders, revitalization teams, homeowners and other interested members of the community. Law Enforcement Officers receive SC Criminal Justice Academy CLEE Credits; City Planners receive credit from SC Planning Education Advisory Committee.
When: June 2 – 3, 2021, 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (lunch on your own)
