PalmettoPride and Columbia Marionette Theater Celebrate 4,000th Puppet Show

Columbia, SC (November 19, 2019) – PalmettoPride and the Columbia Marionette Theatre are celebrating the puppet show’s 20th anniversary, which is performed in SC elementary schools over 200 times per year. This season marks the show’s performance of 1,000,000 students total in the state.

PalmettoPride, and the Columbia Marionette Theatre, have brought the Litter Trashes Everyone puppet show to elementary schools across South Carolina since 1999. This free, twenty minute traveling educational performance features fun characters and dancing trash cans that conveys the message that every citizen has a responsibility to help keep South Carolina beautiful.

A celebration show will be held November 21 at Irmo’s River Springs Elementary, commemorating the Litter Trashes Everyone Puppet Show’s 4,000th performance. PalmettoPride offers a number of educational programs to engage students in helping keep our state clean and teaching them how they can be part of the solution. Book a school performance on the show list today by contacting John Scollon at puppetgnomes@msn.com.

“Education is one of the ways we are working to create a litter-free SC and the puppet show is a great resource to help teach South Carolina students about the impacts of litter,” said Sarah Lyles, Executive Director of PalmettoPride. “We look forward to continuing this program and our partnership with the Columbia Marionette Theater.”

If you would like to join us at the school please let us know so we can inform the school administration.
