PalmettoPride Announces 2025 Tree Grant Recipients
Columbia, SC (October 7, 2024) – Annually, PalmettoPride offers Tree Grants to municipalities, nonprofit organizations, and environmental groups across South Carolina. Tree Grant recipients must plant donated trees in public spaces, such as parks or schools, that are accessible to all citizens.
The Tree Grant program is made possible through a unique partnership between PalmettoPride and the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC). Horticulture departments within the SCDC propagate the saplings, which simultaneously provides PalmettoPride with the trees to donate and inmates with valuable job training. Earlier this year, Keep America Beautiful, Inc. recognized the success of the Tree Grant program with the 2024 Innovation Award. This grant cycle, PalmettoPride awarded 939 trees to 13 organizations across 11 South Carolina counties:
