PalmettoPride announced the recipients of its annual enforcement grants, which fund efforts to increase litter-related ticketing. Agencies use the money to purchase equipment to monitor hot spots for illegal dumping and to host community outreach events like tarp giveaways and waste tire buybacks. In the 2027 grant cycle, PalmettoPride awarded $31,881 to eight local and county agencies across seven counties.
The Duke Energy Foundation awarded $50,000 to PalmettoPride through its America250 initiative to support cleanup and beautification projects led by Keep South Carolina Beautiful affiliates across the state. This grant will be distributed to Keep South Carolina Beautiful (KSCB) affiliates to support cleanup and beautification efforts across South Carolina.
As millions of travelers hit South Carolina roads this summer, state and local law enforcement agencies are increasing efforts to crack down on littering, illegal dumping, and unsecured loads through Zero Tolerance for Litter Month, a statewide initiative led by PalmettoPride and the South Carolina Litter Control Association.
In just its second year, the SC Sweep expanded into a growing statewide movement, tripling litter removal totals and engaging volunteers in every South Carolina county.
Funding will support municipalities, nonprofits, enforcement agencies, and environmental groups working to reduce litter and improve local environments statewide.

The KAB State Partnership Award was presented during the Keep America Beautiful National Summit awards ceremony, which took place Friday, February 27 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
